The Council can remove all vehicles abandoned on public
land and any abandoned on private land if there is a risk to public
safety.

public highway, please report it to Telford police on 0300 333
3000.
What is an abandoned vehicle? If you can
answer yes to any of the below questions, then
report the vehicle to us:
- Has the vehicle been parked without moving for two weeks or
more?
- Is it untaxed?
- Are there any flat tyres or removed wheels?
- Is the windscreen or any window broken?
- Is the vehicle rusty or mouldy?
- Does it have number plates?
- Are there wires hanging from the dashboard?
- Is it in an unusual or unsafe location?
Fines and charges
Abandoning a vehicle is a criminal offence and you can be fined up
to £2,500 fine, face three months in prison, or both.
Vehicle owners are also liable for:
- £105 vehicle removal
£12 per day storage to a maximum of 14
